What is BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport® and Xeomin®? & How do they work?

BOTOX®Cosmetic, Dysport®, and Xeomin® are derived from the onabotulinumtoxinA (BTX type A). When BTX type A is injected into the muscles, it causes temporary loss of movement. As a result, it is used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows, and improve the look of moderate to severe crow’s feet lines in adults for a short time.

Is BOTOX® Cosmetic safe?

Yes! BOTOX® Cosmetic was approved by the FDA in 2002.  BOTOX® Cosmetic is safe and effective; having been sought out by millions of people. Most common side effects are eyelid drooping or swelling, bruising, tenderness at injection site, blurred vision, possible allergic reaction.

What should I expect during treatment?

This is a quick procedure that requires no downtime or recovery. You will speak to your provider about your expectations and the results you want to achieve with treatment. Your experienced injecting provider(s) have been expertly trained in facial anatomy allowing for safe and proper treatment. BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, or Xeomin® will be injected into the muscles in the desired treatment area. Ice may be used prior and post treatment to help with discomfort. We recommend you skip any strenuous activity or workouts that same day and resume all normal activity the following day.

How soon after treatment will I see results?

Results set in within a couple days to two weeks. Follow-up appointments are scheduled two weeks after your initial treatment to allow for reassessment, and to see if any additional touch ups are needed.
