How does laser hair removal work?

The laser emits a beam of light that targets the hair follicles.  The pigments in the follicles absorb, the light, which damages the follicle and stops growth.  The ideal candidate is someone who has hair that is darker than their skin color.

How many treatments will I need to see results?

The length of time varies for each patient. It depends on the amount of hair, the tone of the hair and skin and of course how consistent you are with your treatments. We say a minimum of six but it is usually more for optimal results.

Will it be painful?

Most patients tolerate laser hair removal easily.  There may be mild discomfort during the procedure, so a topical numbing cream may be applied before treatment.

Does laser hair removal work for all hair types?

Laser hair removal works best for dark hair.  It does not work well for grey or fine blond or reddish blond hair.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Most patients have permanent hair reduction after an average of six to seven sessions.
